Frequently Asked Questions

How does the link checker work?
Our tool sends HTTP requests to each URL and analyzes the response. We check the status code, follow redirects, verify SSL certificates, and measure response time to determine if a link is active or expired.
How many URLs can I check at once?
You can check up to 20 URLs in a single batch. Simply paste one URL per line in the input area and click Check Links.
What do the different status labels mean?
Active (2xx/3xx): URL is accessible. Expired/Dead (4xx/5xx): URL returns an error. Redirected: URL forwards to another destination. SSL Issue: Certificate problems detected. Timeout: Server took too long to respond.
Why do some URLs show as redirected?
Many websites use redirects for various reasons - HTTP to HTTPS, URL shorteners, or moved content. We show you the final destination so you know where the link ultimately leads.
Can I check URLs behind authentication or paywalls?
This tool checks public URLs only. URLs requiring login, authentication, or behind paywalls will likely show as expired or return authentication errors.
Is there a rate limit?
To prevent abuse, we limit requests to 10 checks per minute per IP address. This ensures fair usage of the service for everyone.
